Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PR Buddy, including the PR Buddy mobile app, website, features, content, and related services (collectively, the "App").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Informational Tool Only

PR Buddy is a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) calculator and Express Entry reference tool. It helps users estimate CRS scores, explore CRS-related inputs, and review publicly available Express Entry draw information.

PR Buddy is self-help software. It is not an immigration consultant, law firm, lawyer, legal service provider, authorized representative, or paid immigration representative.

PR Buddy does not:

• provide legal advice, immigration advice, or professional advice;
• prepare, review, submit, or manage immigration applications;
• represent you before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, or any other authority;
• assess your full immigration eligibility, admissibility, category eligibility, program eligibility, or invitation likelihood;
• guarantee any score, invitation, approval, status, permit, visa, or outcome.

2. No Government Affiliation

PR Buddy is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by IRCC, the Government of Canada, or any other government agency.

Any references to IRCC, Express Entry, CRS, Canadian immigration programs, or government materials are for informational and reference purposes only.

3. CRS Scores Are Estimates

CRS scores shown in the App are estimates based on the information you enter and the CRS rules implemented in the App.

Your actual CRS score, eligibility, invitation status, or immigration outcome may differ from what the App displays. Score calculations may be affected by user input errors, incomplete information, rule changes, technical issues, stale data, or differences between PR Buddy and official IRCC systems.

PR Buddy does not guarantee that any score estimate is complete, current, accurate, or accepted by IRCC.

4. No Legal or Immigration Advice

Nothing in the App should be treated as legal advice, immigration advice, professional advice, or a recommendation to take or avoid any action.

You are responsible for your own immigration decisions. For advice about your specific situation, consult official IRCC sources, a licensed lawyer, or an authorized immigration consultant.

5. Official Sources Control

You are responsible for verifying all information with official IRCC sources before relying on it.

Official IRCC materials, forms, calculators, program instructions, notices, and decisions control over any information shown in the App.

6. Draw History and Reference Data

The App may show Express Entry draw history or other reference information. This information is provided for convenience only.

Draw history does not determine whether you are eligible for a program, category, invitation, permanent residence, or any other immigration benefit. A score above or below a previous draw cutoff is not a statement that you would or would not receive an invitation.

7. Your Inputs and Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information you enter into the App.

Do not enter information that you do not have the right to use, including another person's personal information, unless you have permission to do so.

You are responsible for keeping your device, app store account, backups, and local app data secure.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by the PR Buddy Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects or processes, including profile inputs, app analytics, crash diagnostics, purchases, subscriptions, device information, and any third-party services used by the App.

9. Purchases and Subscriptions

PR Buddy may offer paid features, subscriptions, free trials, introductory offers, or in-app purchases.

Before buying, review the price, billing period, renewal terms, included features, cancellation rules, and any trial or introductory offer terms shown in the App, App Store, Google Play, or other applicable purchase flow.

Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You are responsible for managing and cancelling subscriptions through the app store or payment provider where you purchased them.

Purchases are processed by the applicable app store or payment provider and may be subject to that provider's terms, billing rules, refund rules, taxes, and cancellation process.

Unless required by law or app store policy, fees are non-refundable.

If there is a conflict between these Terms and mandatory Apple App Store, Google Play, or other platform billing rules, the applicable platform rules control for that purchase.

10. Limited License

Subject to these Terms, PR Buddy grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, access, and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where allowed by law.

11. Ownership

PR Buddy and its content, software, design, branding, text, graphics, features, and related intellectual property are owned by PR Buddy or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• misuse the App or interfere with its operation;
• attempt unauthorized access to the App, systems, accounts, or data;
• use the App for unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes;
• use the App to provide immigration advice or representation if you are not legally authorized to do so;
• upload, enter, or transmit malicious code;
• bypass access controls, payment systems, feature limits, or security measures;
• use automated scraping, harvesting, or extraction methods except where permitted by law.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may rely on or link to third-party services, including app stores, analytics providers, crash reporting tools, payment processors, subscription platforms, email providers, official government websites, or public data sources.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. PR Buddy is not responsible for third-party content, policies, outages, errors, or practices.

14. Changes to the App

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We may also update CRS rules, draw data, features, pricing, availability, or these Terms.

The App may not always include the latest CRS rules, draw information, government instructions, or immigration program updates.

Your continued use of the App after changes to these Terms means you accept them.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, create legal risk, or if we discontinue the App or any part of it.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law, and dispute-related provisions.

16. No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available."

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PR Buddy disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and that the App will match official IRCC results.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PR Buddy and its developers, owners, employees, contractors, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, or for any loss related to your use of or reliance on the App.

This includes losses connected to immigration decisions, missed deadlines, incorrect inputs, score differences, IRCC rule changes, app errors, stale information, outages, loss of data, purchases, subscriptions, or reliance on estimates or reference information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PR Buddy's total liability for any claim related to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to PR Buddy for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50 if you paid nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits. In those jurisdictions, the limits apply only to the fullest extent permitted by law.

18. Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PR Buddy and its developers, owners, employees, contractors, service providers, and licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of another person's rights.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict of law rules.

You agree that disputes related to these Terms or the App will be handled by the courts located in Alberta, Canada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

20. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect. The unenforceable part will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any purchase terms shown in the applicable app store or payment flow, form the entire agreement between you and PR Buddy about the App.
